High Performance Packet Forwarding

The packet forwarding is performed using advanced hardware acceleration mechanisms, allowing the service provider to use DM2500 products in the most demanding applications combining complex routing protocols and advanced remote management capabilities to deliver value-added services.

 

Management

The products offer a robust Command Line Interface (CLI) with interactive help which is accessible through SSHv2, Telnet or locally through RS-232 console port. DM2500 is also managed and monitored by DmView or other third party management systems through SNMP v2c or v3.

Rollback and commit operations, Remote Syslog, NTP, DHCP and TACACS are available to ease the configuration, management and remote troubleshooting of the devices.

 

Routing Protocols

Besides high-speed packet forwarding and static routing the product is capable of establishing dynamic routing sessions with remote nodes using RIP, OSPF or BGP protocols. Authentication, prefix lists and route maps are also supported. Comprehensive table sizes are offered to fit typical access scenarios.

 

Tunneling

DM2500 products implement VLAN tags and GRE tunnels, allowing the service provider to establish traffic isolation and make intelligent use of existing network infrastructure.

 

NAT

Network Address Translation mechanism in several modes is fully supported to allow a clear separation between public and private networks, also saving IP resources.

 

Security

Access Control Lists configuration allows the service provider to permit or deny specific traffic patterns based on source/destination addresses, protocol type, ports and so on.

 

QoS

DM2500 offers flexible QoS mechanisms which implement traffic limiters and shapers as well as classification and assignment to queues. QoS features enforce the proper prioritization and differentiation of data, video and voice traffic.

The DM461x line has models of OLTs GPON for the most varied FTTx applications. The Datacom OLTs Portfolio includes models with 4, 8 and 16 PON ports, in addition to a variety of 1GE and 10GE interface options. All models support 1:128 split ratio, totaling capacities ranging from 512 to 2048 clients per OLT.

The OLT DM4611 4GPON + 2GT + 2XS is the ideal model for applications where there is low population density, that is, condominiums and small neighborhoods.

With its optimized number of ports and desktop installation option, this equipment brings versatility to service provider applications.

All Datacom OLTs are compliant with the ITU-T G.984 and ITU-T.988 standard. Each GPON link supports 2.488 Gbit/s downstream and 1.244 Gbit/s upstream rates and offers dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA).

The configuration of the ONUs of the network is carried out remotely by the OLTs through the OMCI protocol according to the ITU-T standards. Even FXS ports to provide VoIP services to customers can be configured this way.

Being able to use 4094 VLANs defined in the IEEE 802.1Q standard simultaneously, in addition to offering Q-in-Q and VLAN translate functionalities, allowing double TAG, addition (Q-in-Q), removal or replacement of VLANs, the DM461x line serves one wide range of applications and needs for GPON network concentration and interconnection with Metro Ethernet networks.

The Spanning Tree (STP) and Rapid Spanning Tree (RSTP) protocols and ring operation via the EAPS or ERPS protocol are supported, ensuring the protection of Ethernet uplinks. In addition, the Link Aggregation feature (LAG / LACP) allows for quick uplink extensions.

Through the IGMPv2/v3 protocols, multicast traffic is distributed to all customers through a single instance of each flow, enabling the provision of video and IPTV services.

The entire line of Datacom OLTs is based on the DmOS operating system, allowing management via a command-line interface (CLI) accessible through SSHv2, Telnet and RS-232 Console. SNMP v1, v2c and v3 agents and an XML interface based on the NETCONF standard are also available. The DM4616 is an OLT in pizzabox format, 1U high, ready for installation in standard 19-inch Racks, containing 4 XGS-PON interfaces and 4 10GbE interfaces, all in SFP+ connectors.
